Bucks County historic barn converted into breathtaking guest house

Brett King Builder was responsible for this historic barn conversion project located in Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. An original historic barn was completely remodeled into efficient living quarters, while preserving and exposing original stone and timbers.

The expansive open space provided for a gracefully flowing footprint. Two bedroom/bath suites offers individual private entrances, while utility storage and a laundry closet were created in the lower level. The owners were so in love with the end result, they immediately took up residence!

What We Love: The project team did an incredible job of restoring the charm of this historic barn into a functional guest house. The exterior facade is warm and inviting with beautiful materials of wood siding and a stone foundation. An outdoor deck provides a relaxing spot for guests to enjoy fresh air and the beauty that surrounds this home. A voluminous great room is bright and airy thanks to skylights and plenty of windows. This barn house is very appealing, we would love to live here!… Readers, how about you? Could you picture yourself living in this charming converted barn? Tell us in the Comments!

Above: There were a lot of custom specialty items that were included with this build. There was a custom audio/video system with black-out shades installed on all windows. The physical structure was already existing but was gutted and completely renovated.

Above: This floor was a pre-finished flooring that was hand-scraped to give an old rustic look/feel. The flooring was put into what used to be a Bucks County barn that was transformed and remodeled into a living room and kitchen. The project team designed the open space to be very functional and still have a cozy feel. If you look in the top left of the photo you will notice that there was an old barn loft that was turned into a sitting area that overlooks the kitchen and living room that was remodeled.
