This beautiful mountain retreat  was designed by Kelly & Stone Architects in collaboration with Jennifer Robin Interiors, located in Martis Camp, a community in Lake Tahoe, California. Nestled on a beautiful tree-filled property, this 5,000 square foot home was designed as a second home for a family with three young children from the Bay Area. The designer opted for durable finishes and material elements balanced with a serene indoor-outdoor connection.

This retreat was meant to be enjoyed throughout the seasons, with the luxury of golf course access during the summer months and skiing during the winter. Filled with natural light thanks to an abundance of glass, the designer went with a light color palette to enjoy the beauty of the natural landscape. The dining table was fabricated by Statsky Design, the table is composed of reclaimed wood in an X-pattern. The dining chairs are from Hollywood at Home, while the benches were sourced from Cisco Home.

Leather ottomans/coffee tables were sourced from A. Rudin, covered by Dualoy Leather. On either side of the fireplace, custom built-in cabinetry conceals a television on one side, while the other has a wet bar.

Above: Just off the dining room, this powder bathroom features wallpaper from Phillip Jeffries. Flanking the mirror are wall sconces from Robert Long Lighting. The concrete sink is from Native Trails, while the faucet is Brizo.

Above: In the master bedroom, a custom designed upholstered bed is by Kroll Furniture, covered with Maharam fabric. The throw at the end of the bed was found in San Francisco-based Anthem. Bedside tables are custom designed by Matthew Chase Woodworks, while the table lamps are by Alexander Lamont. Above the tables are wall mirrors (helping to make the space feel larger) from the Robert James Collection. At the end of the bed is an antique bench from Sonoma Country Antiques. Grounding the space is an area rug from Stark Carpet.

Above: In the master bathroom, the plumbing fixtures are the Ludlow collection from Waterworks. The wall sconces are from Phoenix Day. A beautiful antique rug is from the Tony Kitz Gallery in San Francisco. To create privacy in this space, the window features bottom-up/top-down shades and large mirrors hung in front of it.

Above: Next to the freestanding tub, a primitive 3-legged table from France circa 1900 can be found on either 1stdibs or EBay. On the wall, the artwork is by a local artist and sourced from Truckee-based store Bespoke.

Above: In the junior master bedroom/guest suite, the metal canopy bed is by Bungalow Classic for Highland House. The arm chair and slatted console table is also by Bungalow Classic. A sliding barn door leads to the bathroom and also helps to maximize space.
