In line with my previous DIY Patchwork Rug Wall Art I want to show how you can ditch the grid gallery wall and get something completely else.

To nail the look of the perfect layered display of your art requires a bit panache but it’s rather easy to create another look within a few minutes.

DIY Alternative Gallery Wall Tips!

Go for leaning and a layered look, and use an assortment of different frame sizes and shapes. You can add a rich mix of mirrors, prints, paintings or maybe some textile art.

Something that really stands out in my own layered art display and creates a quirky visual interest is my neon sign.

Never underestimate the power of lightning. l love how that it not only adds an aesthetic flair and decorative expression, it’s the perfect way to amplify your space.

Layering is so much fun and it’s the act of building the room from the ground up. It’s all about taking each of those individual design elements and pulling them together to form a cohesive look.

To me, it’s that special ingredient that adds depth to space and makes it a bit more extraordinary.

Create an effective standing art gallery by creating a juxtaposition in between each item/ artwork, such as use frames of different materials like metal and wood.

Layering with reflective surfaces like mirrors can make your room look larger and more inviting.
